Young Adult Teams for Home Hazard Assessments

Recent studies have found that Hawaiʻi’s homes are highly vulnerable to natural disasters, including those that are more likely to occur as the planet warms. In many cases these vulnerabilities can be addressed through practical changes like installation of hurricane clips, the establishment of defensible space around homes, and removal of certain invasive grasses. This project would hire, train, and deploy teams of young adults to conduct best practice assessments for willing property owners, both private and public.
