Statwide Native Plant Propagation Hui

This project will establish the Native Hawaiian Plant Propagation Hui, a statewide collaboration among five nonprofit organizations on Hawai‘i Island, Maui, Moloka‘i, O‘ahu, and Kaua‘i. Together, these groups will expand native seed collection, propagation, and restoration activities while strengthening the supply chain for native plants and seeds, which is currently the most significant bottleneck to ecosystem recovery. Over one year, each partner will receive $100,000 to conduct island-specific projects, from wild seed collection, seed propagation, and seed farming to native habitat restoration, increasing the supply of native plant seeds and seedlings across the state.
