Shoreline Fishing Surveys at Maunalua Bay and Kaʻūpūlehu
Fishing limits have been implemented in two areas for 10-year periods, including a newly enacted fisheries management area in Maunalua Bay and an area at the end of the decade long closure at Ka‘ūpūlehu. In both areas, shoreline fishing surveys (known as creel surveys) have been conducted in the past. We propose to repeat these surveys in both places to inform adaptive management capacity.
