Recycled water Act 170 assessments for schools and county buildings
Recycled Water Act 170 Implementation for Schools and County Buildings
Run collaborative assessments for implementing safe recycled water use, water efficiency, and rainwater capture at Hawaiʻi schools and libraries as part of achieving the statewide recycled water goals of Act 170. Work with facility leaders to apply a “facility scorecard” process to their schools and libraries to find conservation opportunities, assess landscape and irrigation efficiency, sketch out potential landscape changes and rainwater capture options, and connect actively with their local water/wastewater utilities on recycled water supply and rebate opportunities. Specific projects arising from the assessment then can be elevated for public and grant funding. This approach offers multiple points for student and community education on water efficiency, water recycling, and smart landscapes.
