R&D funding for Coqui Frog and CRB invasive species control
Couqi Frog & CRB control or Bio Control R&D
Set aside R&D funding to develop better methodologies for controlling the Coqui Frog and CRB (coconut rhinoceros beetle), two invasive species that threaten tens of millions of dollars in economic damages to Hawaii's tourism industries, cultural loss, residential and commercial property impacts, and loss of biodiversity in the islands. Current controls are described as band aid fixes. The funding should target these two pests with solutions that consider Hawaii's unique ecosystems and climate and can be deployed across the state, before greater harm to the island occurs.
