The Pear Lens Disaster Readiness & Vulnerability Mapping (DRV-Hawaiʻi) initiative empowers community health workers (CHWs) to collect real-time disaster-readiness data from kūpuna and other at-risk residents across the islands. Using Pear Lens’ AI-powered platform, CHWs digitize handwritten case notes into structured data that helps identify vulnerabilities in housing, mobility, and health. The project transforms this community-level insight into actionable information for county and state emergency planners, strengthening Hawaiʻi’s resilience infrastructure.
