Pālāwai Expansion

Hoʻokuaʻāina, based in Maunawili, Oʻahu, is a community-rooted nonprofit dedicated to restoring abundance, resilience, and cultural connection through regenerative agriculture, environmental stewardship, and education. Over the past decade, we have hosted 25,000 volunteers, provided 350 paid internships, awarded 118 scholarships, and produced 30,000 pounds of kalo annually while rescuing 116 acres of land from development. The Pālāwai Expansion Project will build on this proven foundation to develop 100 contiguous acres into a thriving center for food production, education, and ecological restoration. With Green Fee support, we will scale food security, strengthen climate resilience, grow local workforce capacity, and establish a premier hub for ʻāina-based learning and regenerative agriculture and eco-tourism on Oʻahu’s Windward Coast.
