Maui Water Channel Restoration Using Ahupuaʻa Methods
Our project on a 25-acre parcel in Maui will restore a water channel to regenerate natural ecosystems, soils, and part of the coastal zone. By integrating Native Hawaiian ahupua‘a technologies with modern nature-based water solutions, we create an avenue for a circular food economy, while revitalizing the community with an education and cultural center. This restoration would provide opportunities for education, promote eco-tourism, ensure local food security, and contribute to a sustainable, regenerative economy.
