Maui Remnant Forest Fencing and Restoration

This project would complete deer-proof fencing to protect over 100 acres of unique remnant forest and important souces of native seeds and biodiversity. Seed collection, invasive species removal, and planting will be accessible to Maui students, community groups and visitors. Planting native species can help engage visitors in offsetting tourism/travel-related carbon impacts, and will leave a visible footprint of restoration that can be viewed from the hotels in South Maui over time.
