Kula Kai Ahupua‘a Restoration Project

We have been working on and advocating for the restoration and protection of the Waipuilani and Kūlanihākoʻi wetlands for the past 6 years and we propose to restore these native ecosystems that have a major impact on all surrounding properties, our beaches, our ocean and marine life. We propose to restore the entire Ahupua‘a of Waiohuli Kai and Keōkea Kai by planting native species of trees and plants, creating swales to catch flood waters and allowing the flood water to recharge the aquafer.
