Kaua‘i community resilience hub readiness and disaster preparedness project

The post describes the Kaua‘i Resilience Hub Readiness Building project, which aims to strengthen community-level disaster preparedness, climate resilience, and emergency response capacity across a network of 10+ Community Resilience Hubs throughout Kaua‘i. Planned activities include comprehensive facility assessments to identify vulnerabilities and infrastructure needs, targeted investments in backup power, water storage, communications systems, emergency equipment, and other site-specific upgrades, emergency supply purchasing, training for community volunteers and hub coordinators, operational planning, islandwide coordination, developing shared readiness standards and response protocols, conducting preparedness exercises, and strengthening collaboration among nonprofits, government agencies, and neighborhood leaders, with particular emphasis on serving geographically isolated communities and residents who face disproportionate barriers to accessing emergency assistance. No specific request, question, or change to the product is stated in the post.
