Ka‘ala Farm Wai

Kaʻala Farm recently completed the installation of a new water meter, an essential step toward improving water access and safety for our ʻāina-based programs. The next critical phase is the installation of irrigation pipelines throughout the farm to deliver reliable water to cultivated areas, reduce wildfire risk, and support educational programming for the Waiʻanae community. Currently, limited water infrastructure restricts our ability to maintain healthy vegetation and manage dry conditions that contribute to wildfire hazards. By extending irrigation lines from the new meter to key zones across the farm, we can ensure consistent water flow for loʻi kalo, native plant restoration, and firebreak maintenance.
