HPD Infrastructure Resiliency Upgrades
The HPD must remain operationally ready and vigilant for when a disaster or event occurs. In line with the City and County of Honolulu's 2025 Local Hazard Mitigation Plan, the HPD must prepare its critical response infrastructure, as it is susceptible to failure, to include exterior hardening, emergency equipment and maintenance, and security upgrades, including protections against EMPs. These could be natural or manmade disasters, terrorist or mass violence attacks, active shooter and/or civil disturbances.
