Hawaiian Hawksbill Conservation project description

The Hawaiian Hawksbill Conservation project collects in-water sightings of Hawaiian hawksbill sea turtles, honu'ea (Eretmochelys imbricata). Photographs/videos that show unique scale patterns on the faces and flippers of hawksbills allow the comparison to the statewide catalog (1998-present). "Every scale tells a tale"! All hawksbills in the catalog are showcased on the educational site that is dedicated to advancing the scientific understanding of this critically endangered species to aid in its local and global conservation: www.HIhawksbills.org.
