Hau‘ula Natural Resource & Infrastructure Needs

Hui O Hau‘ula Resilience Project Addresses Heath and Safety Needs of Ko‘olau loa communities by supporting: (1) A Resilience Hub (Climate Resilient Facility) construction out of the flood, tsunami zones) to protect Ko‘olauloa residents in Natural Disasters and provide a safe location for Ko‘olauloa residents to continue to receive all the services currently provided by Hui O Hau‘ula (501c3 community-based nonprofit) “Partnership Hub” (located near the ocean in the flood and tsunami zones); (2) Address the Wastewater pollution that is a serious threat to the health and wellness of Hau‘ula residents (WAI Wastewater Study 2025).Hau‘ula needs to replace over 600 cesspools that are causing the community to be seriously at-risk. The low-income community of Hau‘ula can't afford the $40,000- $60,000 cost to replace cesspools with septics or ATU's.
