Funding and equipment for Palolo coqui frog eradication
Community driven coqui frog eradication in Palolo Valley.
Support the Palolo Coqui community effort, an all volunteer group formed in March 2026, in increasing its effort to eradicate the invasive coqui frog, Eleutherodactylus coqui, in the back of Palolo Valley. The group requests funding to purchase equipment for weekly citric sprays and equipment for more handcapture volunteers, plus funding for a lead on the weekly sprays of the eight person team needed to hold a spray. The Palolo Coqui community effort works together with the Department of Agriculture and Biosecurity, Department of Land and Natural Resources Forestry Division, Oahu Invasive Species Committee to create management frameworks that prioritize participation and measurable outcomes.
