Fund coastal dune and wetland restoration at Kahoʻolawe

Restoring Coastal Wetlands and Dunes at Kahoʻolawe

Build and restore coastal dunes and wetlands at remote sites around Kahoʻolawe to rebuild habitat for native seabirds and waterbirds. Kahoʻolawe is one of the top 5 priority sites in the U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service’s bird restoration planning, and this project would put that priority into action. Dune building and native coastal planting stabilize shorelines, trap sediment, and create wetland and nesting habitat. Funding would cover remote-site logistics, plant propagation, materials, and crew time for the KIRC restoration team.
