Fishpond ‘Ama‘ama Production

The Division of Aquatic Resources (DAR) realizes the importance of supporting traditional aquaculture in Hawai‘i, especially for producing native species such as ‘ama‘ama (stripe mullet) that are highly valued as food and prized in our local fisheries. This can be accomplished through DAR’s collaboration with stakeholders in aquaculture, Hawaiian fishpond practitioners, and fishers.
