COAST Alumni Conservation Advancement

Build on the COAST (Coral Occupational Applications and Scientific Techniques) program, which introduced local participants to marine conservation through entry-level diving training, progressing through Rescue Diver, and foundational coral restoration skills, by providing alumni with opportunities for advanced training, specialized certifications, and hands-on conservation experience. The rationale is that reinvesting in local individuals who have already demonstrated their commitment to conservation helps them develop their skills, pursue meaningful conservation careers, and strengthens the local workforce dedicated to protecting and restoring coral reefs in Hawaiʻi.
