Brush/Vegetation Remediation, Dept of Education

Establish and fund vegetation management contracts to reduce wildfire risk, improve drainage, and maintain defensible space around the Department of Education's schools. This initiative will directly support the Department’s hazard mitigation and campus safety programs by reducing fire fuel loads and enhancing emergency access routes. Contractors will perform scheduled clearing, trimming, and debris removal. Establishment of services to provide brush and vegetation remediation at schools. This can be done either through contracted services or the establishment of an in-house unit. Initial intent is at least one service contract per island.
