Breakwater for Ka‘awa beach and roadway erosion

The cost of a 950 foot breakwater would be $15 million instead of the State DOT's $5 billion estimate of moving the roadway and homes further inland. The breakwater will protect the sand and roadway erosion. By locating of the breakwater in a strategic location, surfers would still be allowed to enjoy the large waves during the winter.
