Agroforestry system of ancestral food crops for Kahoʻolawe
Establish an agroforestry system of ancestral food crops, including ʻuala, ʻulu, and dryland kalo, to feed the people who work and practice culture on Kahoʻolawe. The project returns traditional food production to the island, supports food self-sufficiency for restoration crews and cultural access visits, and builds soil and shade through agroforestry. It reconnects people to ʻāina through the work of growing and eating food. Funding would cover plant stock, irrigation and mulching materials, fencing, tools, and crew time.
